Argentum nitricum is a good remedy for anticipation of an unpleasant event. It is used for anxiety associated with anticipation, and specifically for anxiety and nervousness that builds up. It is the opposite of aconite which we use for a sudden and unexpected shock.

Arg Nit is for the fear that will just get worse and worse the closer you get to a certain date where you have to perform or be in the ‘spotlight’. Symptoms often come with sugar craving and stomach / digestive symptoms (including belching and flatulence).

Warm-blooded people. A tendency to feel one has to hurry. Impulsive. Anxiety about failing when performing in front of others in public. One often rushes through projects and creates turmoil and clutter (see gelsenium).

Pain is stinging, as if there is a splinter, which can sometimes be experienced as a throat symptom.

Feeling better in the fresh air. Feeling better from walking fast. Feeling worse from being with many people at once, or by eating sweets, which leads to diarrhea.

In short: Hurried and worried. Weird, impulsive whims. Loud burping and diarrhea.

Other helpful hints: Good for phobias, palpitations and irritated colon.
