Chamomilla

Characteristics of this remedy: extreme hypersensitivity and a great temperament. Demands help one moment and rejects help the next. Rough and argumentative, especially to those closest to you. All pain is experienced as unbearable. They feel overheated and look that way too. It is a widely used pain remedy, and perhaps best known as a remedy we use for dentition.

Imagine a small baby who has a tooth coming through slightly inflamed gums. It is for pain and discomfort from teething, where nothing will soothe it. How can we give them peace? Which position is comfortable? The reaction may seem out of proportion to the disease or injury, but everything is very real for the patient.

Feeling better by removing duvets and blankets, and by taking some of the clothes off. Feeling worse in the evening, with fresh air, company and when you are talked to or watched. The worst time for them is from 9pm - midnight.

Another classic characteristic of chamomilla is that one cheek is red and the other is not. Diarrhea with a greenish tinge.

In short: Angry, whimsical children with intense pain and greenish stools. They can only be calmed down by being carried around.

Other helpful hints: Really good painkiller for colic too. This remedy can also relieve menstrual cramps that match the above description.
