Used for both skin and intestinal problems. We often see that the skin problems occur after digestive problems, such as after the intake of penicillin. On the skin we experience a dryness, skin that flakes and is hot and itchy. When you look at the skin, you immediately think that it looks unhealthy. The skin problems are aggravated by contact with water, and the skin actually looks a little dirty, even after just coming out the shower.

If there is a burning sensation on the skin, along with redness or foul-smelling inflammation, then sulphur is indicated. It doesn’t matter where the symptoms are on the body, it can be the nose, mouth, anus or anywhere. Used for acne and boils.

Be careful when using it for skin problems yourself, especially if it does not work quickly. Contact a homeopath to find a better remedy that is right for you.

A headache that could be treated with sulphur sits on top of the head, or as a band around the head. Also used for chronic catarrh, that is yellowish and irritates the skin around the nose.

The sulphur personality is a thinker who also likes to take an active part in discussions and explains all details to get their opinion across. They are not always quite as good at listening. They like to find out how things work, and therefore like to take things apart, to (maybe) reassemble them. Often, they are nervous about the future and have a slightly pessimistic attitude towards it.

Sulphur children hate to take a shower. Sulphur is for the warm-blooded personality who wants doors and windows open.

They have an empty feeling in their stomach around 11.00 in the morning, love sweet things, strong food and they are very thirsty. They get better with fresh air and experience worsening between 10-11 in the morning.

In short: The lazy philosophical type. Unhealthy looking skin, with redness and itching. Smelly stool and farts.

Other helpful hints: Try a detox at home, with sulphur and nux vomica. Take nux vomica in the morning, and sulphur in the evening for 3-14 days.
