This remedy has reportedly saved many lives. The most extreme carbo veg symptom is a total collapse after lack of oxygen. A remedy that can be used in all cases where you do not feel you can get enough air. Likewise, in the case of an extremely sluggish digestion.
Carbo veg is used well where there is poor oxygenation. Flatulence, weakness and cold limbs. Low vitality, sluggishness, bewilderment and feeling chilly. Great need for fresh air. Ice cold hands and feet. Bluish tint to the skin. The feeling that the blood is standing still. Acid reflux. Can't stand having something tight around the abdomen.
Never fully recovered after an exhausting illness (see also gelsemium), blood loss or after breastfeeding for an extended time.
Give carbo veg in the extreme cases where one is about to collapse and has air hunger. Give in the more common situations where you have poor digestion and flatulence that seems to get stuck.
Leg ulcers in elderly patients who move very little. Used for digestive problems where you feel heavy and as if your stomach is full of air. The great urge for fresh air makes the patient want to be fanned, even if cold. You may observe that the skin is marbled. There may be cold sweat on the face. This may be a shorter episode that occurs after eating or drinking too much, or it may be a chronic condition where vitality is reduced after a long-term illness. Exhausting pneumonia and rattling loose cough where nothing gets coughed up (see also ant tart).
Sometimes used with nux vomica for digestive problems. Can also be used for bedsores and inflamed wounds.
Hold a pill on the inside of the lower lip of the patient (including babies) until symptoms improve.
In short: Feeling ice cold. Total collapse. Air hunger with an urge to be fanned.
Other helpful hints: If it is a baby that is being treated during labor, give it to the mother while following all other normal procedures. Give in forest fires. Great for new born animals too.
